Black Hills Energy has requested the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) approve an increase in its base electric rates, which would result in an average monthly bill increase for residential customers of about $20.23 from $109.67 to $129.90 per month for 600 kWh, and your cost will increase even more if you use more than 600kWhs. There would also be an increase for small commercial customers of $25.06 from $251.20 to $276.26.

    Comments paragraph:

I am deeply concerned and angry about the recent Black Hills Energy increase in my monthly electric bill, $20. I am already paying 47% more than Colorado Springs and Denver. Also, the increase of $25.06 to small commercial businesses will cost me more on my purchases. This is going to cost me more than $20 per month. Also, you will bankrupt some of the businesses, or they will leave Pueblo for cities with cheaper electric rates. These increased rates will also cause more unhoused residents, which we have too many already. We have had too many increases in the past. Is this what our future looks like? Increase after increase.  Enough is Enough.

Please allow us to seek another electric provider to heal from all the damage Black Hills Energy has caused and will cause to our disadvantaged community.

Thank you for your attention to this critical issue for the future of Pueblo.
